Starving Artist Fair and 51st Singapore National Day Parade Comic Mural

Me with the credits sticker!

A group of friends and I did a comic mural project for the upcoming Singapore National Day. It was a great learning experience and we made friends, and it was fun to collaborate!  It is currently at *SCAPE in Singapore so if you are nearby please go and have a look. I don't think it will be up there for long. We wanted to take a group photo but unfortunately one of the team cannot make it so maybe we will reschedule to another day. Then I joined a friend for the Cosportrait Corner to draw portraits/caricatures!  It was my first time participating in a Starving Artist Fair ever. Overall today was fun and busy.

Draw Yourself - the meme

So I was made aware of this artist meme thing floating around on the Internet and I decided to join! Personally I like my mascot better. In fact i think this is the first time I attempted to draw myself in anything near a realistic style… With good reason! #draw_yourself

iPad Caricatures for McDonald's

Caricatures I drew today at McDonald’s at Marina Cove in East Coast Park for their opening event. Thank you McDonald’s Singapore and Crossroads for the opportunity.  I drew it on my iPad and used the Procreate app.

Caricatures at the Terror Club

A couple of weeks ago I was assigned a job to draw at the Terror Club as there was a fair there, with popcorns and bouncy castle and everything if I remember correctly. It's quite out of the way in Sembawang and it's a U.S. Navy club.  There's apparently a U.S. Navy housing area there! Didn't know that!

Back on DeviantART! And mugs.

Hey, I'm back on DeviantART after a long hiatus. Feel free to connect with me there. I got myself a premium membership, too, so I guess that's one incentive to stick around this time.

I also got myself some mugs!  The designs are based on my webcomic series.  I ordered them from Zazzle, so this is just a preview.  The store is coming soon! don't go anywhere!

A brainy couple

I made my boyfriend a quick, silly drawing on paper with coloured pencil and posted it to him. Here we're supposed to be...anthropomorphic cartoon brains with glasses and hair. His brain even has a man bun!

He apparently likes it so much that he said that he wanted to wear the design on a shirt, so I redrew this in Illustrator and made it into a t-shirt via Zazzle for him.  Hopefully he'll get it in a few weeks!

This is supposed to mean something but to be honest I totally forgot what inspired it. Knowing myself and how weird I can be sometimes, I'm sure it was something about how we connect well on an intellectual level. That's the most normal explanation I can think of.

A Love Story

This set of illustrations is a commissioned project and was done over the span of 2.5 months from mid-Feb to the end of April.  I worked on it after work from my my full-time job and on the weekends.

Ashwin and friends

Ashwin is such an inspiration! He’s had a hard life, but still managed to forge a very successful career for himself and make a lot of friends from different walks of life.
I’m so proud of him! And I’m really pleased with this pic because this is the first time I managed to successfully paint something with those “chisel” chalk/oil pastel brushes!  For so many years I just stuck to those round brushes.

A bit of a blog overhaul

I realise that I've been neglecting my blog. I have a lot of new art and sketches and stuff to put here, but first I have to clean up this blog. What a mess it is! I just removed a column from the blog and many of the gadgets because they just either look cluttered or not working.

I changed the banner image and the colour scheme too, to a colour combination that you would hopefully find not too garish and readable.

Maybe I'll clear out some pages later and do some other overhaul that makes this blog easier to navigate.

Please let me know what you think.

New Facebook banner

an illustration I made for the new FB banner. Speaking of which, this current blog banner might be due for an update as well!
